Industrial Signage

Industrial signage consists of tags and panels that designate elements, environments, spaces, dangers or general information relating to the management of the factory or technological plant being built. Some plates for industrial signage are standardized by law, others follow the specifications and regulations of each particular industry in terms of shape, color and coding, thus ensuring worker safety and improving productivity and plant maintenance.

Industrial signage can consist of plates and panels that identify areas of the plant, or that report technical data on ducts, cable bundles, switches and other plant components in order to facilitate their use. Plant plates must certainly be long-lasting, legible over time, and must therefore be made of resistant materials and must have indelible graphics.

How are industrial identification tags made?

Industrial signage tags can be made either by milling or with laser machines.

Milling engraving machines can produce tags in two-tone ABS material, or even more resistant in ACRYLIC, engraving names and acronyms in a permanent and long-lasting way. The same machines can also cut the plates to shape.

PCube supplies small milling machines, which can be equipped with a self-centering vice and a special table to block the plates, even the thinnest ones. As an option, the machines can be connected to a chip extractor, to always have a clean work surface.

Laser machines are also practical and very productive for making signs for plants in two-tone or single-color acrylic material. There are various types of laser technologies, for making industrial signs and signs for plants:

• laser technology with CO2 source and XY movement allows you to obtain large productions of plastic signs and even large panels. This type of laser is able to both engrave and cut the signs or letters to be applied to the sign. Recommended machines: GCC E200SM
• UV laser technology with galvanometer allows you to engrave with speed and with extraordinary quality on signs of any material, the working field in this case is reduced compared to an XY laser. Recommended machines: Imp FUL-500
• fiber laser technology with MOPA source can also mark plastic material, but it has a limited working area and does not allow you to engrave transparent materials. A MOPA laser is the winning choice if you also need to engrave metal signs. Recommended Machines: Magic L3
